UTV True Games, the online studio of UTV, the Indian game publisher that owns mobile outfit Indiagames, is going all iOS with its new cross platform title Planet Crashers.

Designed for browsers, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, the online game promises to mix up the usual aspects of social gaming, in terms of fast but simple battle gameplay with the ability to customise your cartoony avatar, upgrade weapons and buy new items.

Do what you want to do

Of course, you can be logged into your account via any supported platform so you can play the game where or how ever you want to.

This means you can use location-based technology on mobile devices such as GPS to gain additional search bonuses or create a local team. Player versus player battles can be single head to head melee affairs or set up as eight by eight team competitions.

To give a flavour of what you get up to, the type of planet affects the battles that happen on it, so for example, planets made of cheese will have a mouse that will bite your opponents.

Planet Crashers is due for release in winter 2010, and you can see how it plays in the following video.
