What do you get when you put HD graphics on a classic Amiga pinball game?

Before DICE started pushing polygons around on the virtual battlefields of, well, Battlefield, the Swedish outfit produced some of the most iconic pinball games of the 16-bit era, such as Pinball Fantasies.

Now, Cowboy Rodeo has brought back the old pinhead for another hurrah on iOS in the form of Pinball Fantasies HD.

Those with long memories will recall that Pinball Fantasies has actually been out on iPhone for a while now, but this new HD version (which, confusingly, is a Universal app) sports enhanced graphics, runs at 60 frames per second, and includes support for Game Center.

The physics aren't quite as cutting edge as they were back in the day, but the four tables are still very well designed, providing enough tricks and twists to give pinball fanatics a good workout.
