The thing about being a video gamer is your hobby rarely forces you to confront the human condition or undergo extremes of emotion. Games may be fun, but balladeers mostly don't write songs about them. Mostly.

Audio Gamer (known in the flesh as Rebecca Mayes) has been releasing songs on the subject of video games since December 2008.

She started with Wii Sports before moving swiftly on to Okami. Then she switched to DS for Hotel Dusk: Room 215, then Hello Kitty: Big City Dreams, and then - after a sojourn onto PS3 for Flower - Peggle Dual Shot.

Like all of her songs, it's both professional and soulful - embarrassingly soulful, almost, given that it's basically about pachinko.

Still, never mind that. Go to GamePeople to hear Mayes's collection of songs, and click below to watch her video for 'The Infuriating and Alluring Case of Mr Kyle Hyde.'
