Peggle art contest rolling into action

PopCap is celebrating all things Peggle in a new promotional campaign called Peggle Fever, which invites players to send in artistic submissions to be included in future versions of the bouncing ball and peg game.

The competition is open to the US and UK, and offers over $10,000 in cash-equivalent prizes - such as trips to visit PopCap’s Seattle headquarters, spending sprees at Best Buy (where?), limited edition Peggle merchandise and iPhones and Xbox 360s with Peggle pre-installed.

“We get a lot of fan mail from Peggle devotees, including lots of suggestions for background art, new Peggle characters and power-ups, and level designs, and thought an art contest would be a fun way to foster and tap into that creativity and enthusiasm for the game,” says Sukhbir Sidhu, co-creator of Peggle and studio director at PopCap.

“We’re excited to see what the rabid Peggle community comes up with in the way of ideas!”

Entries can be pretty much anything so long as it’s inspired by the bagatelle-style game and can be used in some capacity in future releases, which include the iPhone, DS, XBLA and more.

So, you could fingerpaint a background picture, send in an ingenious level design, write a poem about a Peggle Master and any other ingenious way of saying how much you love Peggle.

The competition’s open now, and submissions must be in by June 3rd. Bounce on over to PopCap’s Peggle art competition page now for more info.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
