It’s been a good week for Palm owners. Not only did they get a brand spanking new handset, the Pre Plus, but Palm also announced the arrival of 3D gaming to existing handsets.

Headlining the move into this newfangled extra dimension are iPhone best-sellers like Gameloft’s Asphalt 5: Elite Racing, EA Mobile's The Sims 3 and several entries from Glu including Glyder 2.

The full 3D lineup reads:

Need for Speed Undercover
Monopoly
Let's Golf
Asphalt 5: Elite Racing
The Sims 3
Glyder 2
X-Plane

And whats more, following the release of the new Palm webOS Plug-in Development Kit (3D toolkit), now that developers have another output for their wares many more 3D games will surely be quick to follow suit.

While it's unlikely that this have any impact on the iPhones dominance of the gaming market Palm Pre owners will be pleased to know that, albeit as an afterthought, new and old 3D titles are on their way.
