Pac-Man goes match-three with Pac-Match Party on iPhone

What is it with our favourite game characters signing up for puzzle game spin offs. If it's not the cast of Street Fighter, Alucard from Castlevania or the squealing creatures from Pokemon, its Pac-Man.
That's right. Despite already having about five games to his name on the iPhone, including the brilliant Pac-Man Championship Edition, the little yellow circle that could is coming to the App Store once more in a retro twist on the match-three genre.
In Pac-Match Partyyou match up Inkies, Blinkies, Pinkies, and Cyldes, as well as assorted fruits and little gift wrapped parcels. The twist is that Paccers is chomping up pellets around the side of the stage, and if you take too long he'll be gobbled by his ghoulish cohorts.
Having the most iconic circle of the '80s headlining the game might not be enough to make it stand out amongst the 19 thousand match-three games on iPhone, but Namco can at least try.
With 30 levels, Pac-Match Party will hit iPhone and iPod touch soon for 1.19 / $1.99 / 1.59. See a video of it in action below.
