One of the problems of working on high profile games such as Spore Origins and Boggle for big publishers like EA Mobile is that your own bright ideas can be overshadowed.

And that's exactly the situation US developer Tricky Software has found itself in, having made Spore Origins and Boggle for EA Mobile.

Now however it's stretching its own creative muscles with the release of PUFF.

It's a puzzle game that's based on you popping various structures of balloons so they drop the prizes that are hanging beneath them.

You can only pop balloons of the same colour where there are two or more of the same colour in a horizontal or vertical row. Neatly, you don't have to pop all the balloons, but can strategically remove various groups, which will drop the prize early.

Various power-ups also come into play to speed up the process even more.

In this way, you get a score and prize categories based on the number of moves you've made as well as the number of undo moves made.

The game also does a great job in terms of social networking as it allows real time updates of your scores from within the app and logs your global location, so you can see who's playing the game and where.

You can create your own customised balloons with photos, and email your friends challenges too.

PUFF is out now, priced 99c, €0.79 or 59p. Hit the Buy It! button to pop over directly to the App Store.
