Sony unveils 82 developers working on NGP games

Sony has unveiled a monster list of development studios that are committed to making games for Sony’s upcoming portable-powerhouse, the NGP.

As expected, the console has huge Japanese support with 47 different Asian studios gearing up for NGP development. Alongside heavy hitters like Square Enix, SNK Playmore and Tecmo Koei, there are more niche studios like No More Heroes developer Grasshopper Manufacture, Armoured Core creator FromSoftware and Level-5, which makes Professor Layton.

In North America, developers like Activision and 2K have pledged support, as well as Capybara Games - creator of Critter Crunch - and High Voltage Software, which developed The Conduit on Wii. Epic Games showed off an Unreal Engine 3 tech demo at Sony’s press conference, and will be making games for the console too.

Plenty of European and Australian studios are included as well, including Ubisoft, Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios, Oxford-based iPhone developer Exient, Flight Control creator Firemint and Rockstar Games.
