Sony to pull plug on online service for all SOCOM PSP titles on August 31st, 2012

Bad news, SOCOM lovers: on August 31st, Sony Computer Entertainment America will pull the plug on its online service for all SOCOM PSP and PS2 titles.

Basically, this means you won't be able to play SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo, SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2, SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3, or SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike online after that date.

Each entry in the Fireteam series scored relatively poorly after covertly sneaking into our review room, so it's probably not worth grabbing them unless you're looking to add ageing PSP software to your ever-increasing library of games.

SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike, on the other hand, fought its way to a solid 9/10 and, therefore, received a shiny Pocket Gamer Gold Award for its troubles.
