New Sony Entertainment Network online store lets you buy PSP and PS Vita games from your web browser
|

Sony has officially launched its new Sony Entertainment Network online store in the US, which means American punters can now buy games, add-ons, movies, and more for their PSP and PS Vita right from their favourite web browser.

So, how does it work?

It's all pretty simple, really. All you have to do is visit the new store on a web-enabled device and sign in using your Sony Entertainment Network or PlayStation Network username and password.

Once you've done that, you're free to browse, search, and buy your favourite games and TV shows.

If you do purchase something through your web browser, it will automatically be added to the 'My Downloads' section of the PlayStation Store on your PSP, PS Vita, and PS3. Easy peasy.

Naturally, Sony is currently working on a raft of new features for its web-based store, including automatic remote downloads.

When this feature is implemented, you'll be able to buy a game (or some other content) on your smartphone or computer, and have it automatically install on your home console of portable.

Very handy, indeed.
