Although Sony seems to be shoring up the majority of PSP support at the moment, at least it has some first class material to fall back on - not least of all sequels.

Chief among the latest announcements is Patapon 2, and we've just got hold of a drum-full of screenshots.

The original Patapon landed itself a Gold Award from us only a couple of months back, and judging by the screens we're in for more of the same gorgeous mix of strategy, rhythm and action.

Although they're still in Japanese, there's even a few multiplayer screen thrown into the mix. How may players? Not sure. Probably two, to be honest.

What we can predict is that you should brace your thumbs for another round of dynamic, rhythm-led PSP organised chaos. Don't trust us? Fine, be like that. Okay, you can check out the Patapon 2 E3 trailer, too.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
