Yesterday Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announced the introduction of a new promotion: PSPgo Rewards.

The scheme essentially gives access to three free digital download titles to European PSP owners who are upgrading to Sony’s new handheld.

However, unfortunately for those living in SCEA regions it appears that the same incentive is not planned to be implemented in North America.

"We have a dual platform strategy," a spokesperson for Sony said. "PSPgo is the latest offering in our portable entertainment products targeted for the digitally savvy and early adopters who are looking for an easy way to experience entertainment and a wide variety of digital content.

"We will continue to be committed to our existing PSP users by offering over 16,000 pieces of digital content including games, mini's, movies, television shows and SensMe, the new music application as well as UMDs."

Even with the handheld's imminent launch (October 1st), the ongoing saga of the PSPgo shows no sign of slowing down.
