We were slightly miffed when Sony
announced the PSP Go! the other day. Not because of any great disappointment at the hardware - we knew all about that
prior to the official announcement. Rather, we were annoyed at the lack of a UK price for the unit.
We discovered that the US and European PSP Go! will retail at 250 Dollars and Euros respectively, and the fear was that the ‘250’ policy would extend to Sterling, too.
Interestingly, a sneaky peek over at two of the largest video game retailers in the UK,
Game and
GameStation, shows that the PSP Go! can be preordered for the sum of £229.99. Earlier today, it was listed as £179.99, which would have made it the same price as the original PSP when it was released back in 2005.
So, educated punt? Or do they know something we don’t?

So how can they justify charging more for a device that has less mechanical parts than the original. Surely dropping the UMD should have saved them a fair bit on cost, and all the other additions are just memory chips and stuff which probably cost pennies.
Not impressed SONY, get your act together
