Not content with the information Sony gave at the recent Leipzig Games Convention on what the new PSP 3000 model will feature - which includes a brighter screen and integrated microphone - website Maxconsole has claimed there's more, as yet unannounced, information to come.

A Best Buy insider has apparently tipped off the website that the redesigned console will also come with the ability to play games using the PS3's DualShock controller. And that it will be compatible with composite cables (480i) to play games through the TV instead of requiring a component 480p.

DualShock compatibility could be a useful bonus - but only if PS3 remote play takes off more than it has. It will at least put to rest any control issues caused by playing a PS3 game on your PSP. It would also, of course, restrict your remote playing a bit seeing as the PSP would be significantly less portable if you're playing it with a PS3 pad.

As for 480i compatibility - we're not sure that's going to set many gaming forums alight by excited gamers. But Sony might have decided to include it if users have been asking for it.

At the moment this is all just rumour - we'll be sure to let you know if Sony makes any announcement confirming them.
