E3 2008: Sony's John Koller admits company 'looking into' native PSP Store
Handheld could be getting its very own store in the near future
In a meeting with PSP brand manager John Koller late yesterday afternoon at E3 in Los Angeles, he confirmed that Sony is examining the possibility of bringing the PlayStation Store to PSP.
"Having a native store on the portable is something we're looking into," stated Koller.
This week, Sony launched a new video addition to its burgeoning online marketplace on PlayStation 3 and PC. While television programmes and films can be downloaded and then transferred for viewing on a PSP, users aren't able to actually download content from the handheld.
Koller was quick to highlight the advent of video content on PSP, stating that it's part of Sony's continuing efforts to broaden the multimedia capabilities of the system.
When asked about expanding the amount of content available on the PlayStation Store, he encouraged us to "keep an eye in the next few months" for new, currently unannounced games and media.
