With the PlayStation Store up and running and enabling you, via PC, to download all manner of demos, trailers and games to your PSP, this announcement of a larger memory stick has come at the right time.

Sony has confirmed the release of a 16GB version of its Memory Stick Duo. Currently, the largest size available is 8GB, which retails for around £70. The PSP is otherwise generally bundled with a comparatively small 512MB stick.

The bad news is the confirmed release details - March and $300 (at least £150) - only refers to North America. That's pretty pricey but you can at least rest assured that 16GB will offer more than enough storage for multiple games, music tracks and videos. obviously the Memory Stick Duo is compatible with other Sony products and mobile phones too. So, a bargain! Sort of.
