New adaptor makes microSDHC PSP compatible

Sony's Pro Duo memory card might be as reliable as your kitchen tap is at dispensing water, but it doesn't come cheap. Meanwhile, microSDHC (high capacity) memory cards are cheap as chips – to give you an idea, a 4GB microSDHC card at Amazon costs £7.11 compared to £22.42 for a 4GB Pro Duo.

There are adaptors already out there that make microSD compatible with the PSP's Pro Duo memory card slot but not the high capacity microSD variety. However, PhotoFast has just announced one such device that is compatible with both microSD and microSDHC cards up to 8GB.

The PhotoFast adaptor (known as the CR-5300) is compatible with both the original PSP and PSP-2000 (as well as with other Sony cameras and mobiles using Pro Duo) and is expected to cost around the £12 mark when released shortly.

Anyway, we mention it because it could be a handy alternative to buying a bigger Pro Duo – especially if, like us, you've already got assorted memory cards you use for other devices lying around the place.
