Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops not on sale?

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops not on sale?

News site GamesRadar has just reported that Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops won't make its UK release tomorrow as expected. The delay is reportedly due to the accidental omission of the required BBFC marking on the UMD, forcing retailers to return their copies.

It might explain why GAME no longer lists the title on its site (although Play.com continues to advertise it as available for despatch).

HMV, meanwhile, has a date of September 1st, which seems unlikely.

Konami could not be contacted at the time of writing but, if true, it seems a remarkable blunder on what is one of the year's biggest releases (one that has been available in the US since the end of 2006, let's not forget). Particularly as the promotional copies we've received clearly include the BBFC 12 certificate on the UMD (though not on the packaging itself).
