Our old friend Luc Bernard - winner of the “Most Luxurious Mane in Video Gaming” Award for the past two years running - has dropped us a line to hype up his forthcoming PSP Minis action platformer, Mecho Tales.

Bernard is a man who loves his old skool games and he’s making sure that Mecho Tales is influenced by all the right titles - Gunstar Heroes and Super Mario Bros 3 are two of the main points of inspiration, according to the ebullient Anglo-French games designer.

The audio will also be packed with vintage themes and Bernard has once again secured the talents of award-winning composer Sean Beeson, whose Mecho Tales soundtrack is said to contain everything from epic orchestral movements to retro-tinged chip tune segments.

With the PSP Minis release schedule for 2010 looking barer than Newcastle United’s trophy cabinet, Mecho Tales should be at the very top of your most wanted list if you’re a PSP owner.

Damien's mum hoped he would grow out of playing silly video games and gain respectable employment. Perhaps become a teacher or a scientist, that kind of thing. Needless to say she now weeps openly whenever anyone asks how her son's getting on these days.
