Sony slashes the price of God of War: Chains of Olympus, LittleBigPlanet (PSP), and more on the PlayStation Store

The PSP played host to a lot of great games.

More than it's given credit for, really. Don't believe me? Just wait until you reach the end of this article. Then, you'll see who's right, soldier.

To encourage you to revisit a few of those timeless PSP titles, Sony has announced it's holding a sale on some PSP classics on its PlayStation Store. In case you are worried, yes, they are playable on PSP and PS Vita, too.

All the games in the Sony sale have been reduced in price from £6.49 to just £3.19. That's less than the price of a sandwich at most places nowadays.

The first chunk of classic PSP games will go on sale today. These are predominantly games developed by Sony's own studios. Unsurprisingly enough, the selection includes a fair number of Pocket Gamer Award winners.

You all deserve awards

If you like your violence ancient, angry, and bald, for example, you can pick up the Platinum Award-winning God of War: Chains of Olympus or its Gold Award-winning sequel Ghosts of Sparta.

Or if you prefer your gaming a little more sedate, cerebral, and bouncy, go buy the Platinum Award-winning LittleBigPlanet or the Gold Award-winning Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier.

We could go on. And on. And on. If you want to check out the full list, though, head over to the EU PlayStation Blog.

This first batch of legendary PSP games is on sale for the next two weeks. A new batch will take its place after that, so make sure you save some cash for those deals, yeah.
