Final Fantasy Type-0 fan translation patch hit by a cease and desist from Square Enix

Square Enix has has issued a cease and desist letter to fans creating the English and Spanish translations of Final Fantasy Type-0.

The localization patch for the PSP and Vita RPG was due to be released on August 8th. It has now been cancelled and all material pertaining to it removed following Square Enix's letter.

"Unfortunately I’m forced to remove my posts and pages related to the popular Final Fantasy Type-0 fan translation project," reads the notice on SkyBladeCloud.

"That’s right, certain game company thinks that threats and false accusations are the way to treat its biggest fans."

"For the time being I can't answer questions related to this matter, but I’ll write a more comprehensive post about all this once I get the chance."

Final Fantasy Type-0 has been available in Japan on PSP and Vita since 2011 but hasn't yet seen a release elsewhere.

However, it will becoming to Xbox One and PS4 as a HD remaster in the future.
