PSP game
Daxter was released almost two years ago (in April 2006) but it still managed to achieve more sales in December than almost any other month previously.
The game's California-based developer, Ready at Dawn,
announced on its website that the game sold massively at the end of last year partly thanks to bundles available in the US, which grouped together a silver Slim & Lite PSP and a copy of
Daxter.
The extra sales over the Christmas period mean
Daxter has now shifted two million copies worldwide since its release, an impressive number by anyone's standards and proof that it's not only DS that can keep generating sales for its older titles.
Ready at Dawn's website also references its upcoming
God of War game, saying: "
Daxter has been an incredible success for us, especially considering it was our very first game as a company. We can only look forward to
God of War: Chains of Olympus doing even better. The bar has been set and we're just about to raise it!"
Chains of Olympus is due for release in March 2008. And from what we've seen of it so far, we're guessing it might well thrash its developer's newly-set sales record.
