When big robots attack on PSP: Armored Core: Silent Line Portable

You have to love the Japanese obsession with large robots. Like the German's keeness for panzers, only with legs, Japanese developers have been making games about mecha for decades now.

From Software's Armored Core: Silent Line Portable for PSP is just the latest example.

Now available on the US PlayStation Network, you take the role of a Raven, a mercenary who pilots a giant flying mech known as Armored Core.

After tailoring your weapon loadout and propulsion system for the mission at hand, you get to engage in ferocious battles with other mechs across a variety of futuristic landscapes.

Details of the game stack up thus:

Build and customise mechs with primary and secondary parts.
There are over 450 mecha parts to build your own unit, including popular parts from past Armored Core titles.
There are new opponents from the Japanese Armored Core novel.
The AI training system helps new players get up to speed.
Use Armored Core 3 portable game saves. You can upload these to Silent Line Portable.
The adhoc multiplayer mode lets up to four players battle.

Armored Core: Silent Line Portable is available now in the US, priced $14.99.
