300: March to Glory PSP screenshots finally break cover

We've already told you about this PSP-exclusive title based on a forthcoming (seemingly promising) film, in turn based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, itself based on ancient history.

Or at least, we told you what we knew at the time which, admittedly, wasn't much.

Today we're not much better informed, true, although we offer a selection of good-looking screens and have at least seen the game in action.

Yet while we're no wiser as to the exact mechanics of 300, aside from the obvious combo-reliant spear and swordplay involving a varying cast of human and thoroughly fictitious adversaries, we can at least confirm that the action currently seems coherent with that of the film – that is to say it is both brutal and gruesome – and combat flows as smoothly and as copiously as the blood tainting the grisly battlefield (once it's finished spurting from the considerable number of severed arteries, admittedly).

Oh, we also know the game's release date (at least in the US) has been confirmed as March, to coincide with the cinematic release.

Sure, the movie/game combo are looking like rather brainless fun, but we're genuinely looking forward to both so let's hope at least one delivers.
