The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character is heading to PS Vita on May 29th

All the way back in June 2011, Welsh developer Dakko Dakko released an extremely colourful PSP minis title called The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character.

At review, we called it "charm and challenge in a neat 22MB file", and wrapped a glittering Silver garland around its virtual neck.

Today, Dakko Dakko producer Dan Croucher announced that The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character - an aptly named high-def remake of the company's abovementioned award winner - will be available on PS Vita soon.

According to Croucher, this remake will feature completely new art and audio, as well as PSN trophies and online leaderboards for the game's Challenge mode.

For those of you who've never played The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character, it's a simple game. In fact, you can play it using just two buttons.

Your aim, you see, is to guide a rotating sea critter around a colourful arena, saving baby octopi and avoiding pesky enemies like barking dogs and demonic fireballs along the way.

The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character for PS Vita will be available to download in Europe from May 29th for €2.99. It'll be released in the US soon afterwards.

Croucher also announced that an HD remake of Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims will be released on PS Vita this summer. Keep your eyes peeled for that.
