A mysterious multi-page ad for a new PlayStation Vita game called Soul Sacrifice has appeared in Japanese videogame magazine Famitsu, and the speculation mill is already hard at work.

The pockmarked protagonist is one obvious point for discussion.

Still, while next to nothing is known about the game outside of what was present in the magazine - four characters facing off against a giant monster, and the key words - 'story of magician/sorcerers', 'evolved battle concept' and 'real fantasy shown in high spec' - Andriasang noted that the announcement of Soul Sacrifice as a multi-page ad was odd given that most new titles are typically announced as previews.

Mystery thickens

Information on Soul Sacrifice will presumably be made available to the public on 10 May when the game will be officially announced at an event at the Tokyo International Forum.

Interestingly, Andriasang also notes that Sony Computer Entertainment will host the game's official announcement, a fact that has lead to speculation that Soul Sacrifice may well be a first-party title.

While the announcement of Soul Sacrifice creates more questions than it answers, Vita fans can be forgiven for their excitement given the decidedly poor performance of the PS Vita as of late.
