Zeke Virant has announced that his pacifist twin-stick action-puzzler Soft Body will be out for PS Vita later this year. It'll be available on PS4 too with Cross-Buy.

We first caught sight of Soft Body at the end of last year as it came first place at our Big Indie Pitch in Spain. "It's not just ingenious and fresh, it also feels amazing to play," we said at the time.

It has you controlling two "beautiful, gooey snakes" at the same time - each is dictated by one of the analogue sticks.

The idea is to paint the arena by brushing the bodies of these wispy snakes against the walls to reveal them. While doing this, you need to have each snake avoid the bullets and enemies that will insta-kill them.

Sounds hard and it's meant to be. Luckily, as Virant revealed, there's a Soft Mode and Hard Mode.

The Hard Mode means you have no choice but to control both snakes at all times. Whereas in the Soft Mode you can have them conjoin to make matters a little easier.

So if you're looking for a tough challenge, it's there. But if you mainly want to enjoy the gorgeous colours and chill music then hopefully you can do that with the Soft Mode.

No word was given on when Soft Body should arrive outside of "soon" and "later this year." We'll let you know when it does arrive because, dang, we want to play more of this.
