Rock Boshers DX: Director's Cut gets doubly retro with steampunk shooting and ZX Spectrum graphics

Originally a PS Mobile title, Rock Boshers DX is getting a Director's Cut for PS Vita in the US today (Europe tomorrow).

It comes with a widescreen format, HD rendering, and no colour clash this time around. It's also a cross-buy and cross-save title with the PS4.

As with the original game, you play a young Queen Victoria as she fights across Mars to get back to Earth.

This translates to a top-down shooter styled as if it were being released on the ZX Spectrum. So, not only is it set in an 1880s steampunk universe, it gets extra retro points for its graphics.

What you'll need to be concerned about is your shooting arm, though. With 8-directional shooting you're duly prepared to take out the martians coming at you from all sides.

If you fail and Victoria dies, on your head be it, ya hear?

That said, do enjoy your time boshing rocks. You can purchase Rock Boshers DX: Director's Cut on Vita and PS4 in the US today.

We'll remind all you Europeans know that you can purchase it tomorrow, don't worry.

Check out the game's website if you're desperate for more information.
