First revealed at Gamescom last year, Resistance: Burning Skies, the next instalment in the PlayStation Resistance series, is heading to the PS Vita in the spring.

We were hoping it would be a launch title, but, alas, no such luck. It does now have a firm release date, however: we can expect to be blasting Chimera in the face the minute May 29th rolls around.

Resistance: Burning Skies will take place in a completely different time period from the rest of the franchise, with players taking control of Tom Riley, a New York firefighter who wakes up during a full-scale Chimera invasion.

We're pretty excited to see how the first first-person shooter on the Vita fares. Read our hands-on of the game for all the details on what to expect.
