Digital-only Resident Evil: Revelations 2 gets dated for Vita
Island antics
As promised, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be coming to PS Vita in the US and Europe - and it now has a release date, of August 18th.
This is an episodic game about four people - series favourites Claire Redfield and Barry Burton, and newcomers Moira Burton and Natalia Korda - who get trapped on a creepy island infested with zombies.
On consoles, the game is all about co-op. One player is a gun-toting badass, while the other is a support character who blinds enemies or points out their weak spots. But there's no word of story co-op in this Vita version.
You will be able to team up with a pal in the arcade-like raid mode, though.
"Raid Mode 2 player co-op over PlayStation Network is supported out of the gate," says Sony, "and we’ll be adding ad-hoc Raid Mode at a later date [for free]".
The other (potentially) bad news? It will be available exclusively on the PlayStation Store as a digital game. So no tiny blue box for Resident Evil collectors. Boo-urns.
