In a pair of support updates, as noticed by NeoGAF member Hanmik, Sony has revealed that it will kill off the Google-powered Maps and YouTube apps for Vita in the coming months.

"All features of the Maps application and some features of the near application" will be disabled with a Vita system software update that is planned on March 2015.

Meanwhile, the YouTube application will no longer be supported after April 20th 2015, and the application will be removed from the store today. You'll still be able to watch videos through the web browser, however.

Will you miss these apps, or will their imminent demise just free up a few blobs on your homescreen?
