[Update] PS Plus subscription service coming to Vita on November 21st
Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush included (Updated with revised launch date)
Original story follows.
As expected, PlayStation Plus, the premium subscription service currently available to PS3 owners, will come to Vita on November 20th.
This service has traditionally offered PS3 users perks like beta access, reduced game prices, and, more recently, a growing selection of free games.
The good news is that if you're already a PS Plus user, you'll soon be able to gain access to the service from your Vita, too.
If you happen to own both consoles, a number of cross-platform options will open up for you, including auto-synced trophies and saves, and an extra 1GB of cloud save space.
Network privilegesBut, what about those free games? Well, you'll be pleased to hear that the Vita will be getting its own selection of gratis titles, too.
In fact, we can reveal that the first titles in the Vita's "Instant Game Collection" will be Gravity Rush, Chronovolt, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Not too shabby, I'm sure you'll agree.
Sony is also promising that all PS Plus subscribers will get 'free' access to four Vita games per month, so expect at least one more title to be added to that line-up.
Existing PS Plus members will receive all of the above benefits at no extra cost. If you want to sign up for PS Plus, you can try it out for three months for £11.99, or jump on board for a full year for £39.99.
