The PS Vita has got off to a fairly decent worldwide start, with ten of the handheld's 23 launch games entering Chart-Track's individual format Top 40 UK chart.

As always, mind, it hasn't been a completely smooth ride for Sony's new console.

Several members of the PlayStation.com forums are complaining of a pesky 'NP-2244-2 Error' that is preventing them from purchasing content from the PlayStation Store on their new portable console.

Furthermore, an '800231002 Error' is causing the same problem on their PS3.

According to one forum poster, the issues began during "the early hours of Friday morning".

No luck

Many of those PSN members who are experiencing difficulties with making purchases from the Store have tried numerous credit cards, fiddled with their router, and called Sony's customer support to no avail.

The failed purchases are reportedly marked as "missed charges" in the affected users' account histories.
