Hideo Kojima took to the stage at Sony’s pre-TGS conference and revealed a fair few details about his team's upcoming games, not least a secret PS Vita project for which he takes on the role of writer and designer.

The Japanese gaming auteur behind the Metal Gear Solid and ZOE franchises was reluctant to share any other details, though he did mention those previous works will be coming to the newest handheld member of the Sony family in shiny new HD form.

Syncs of Liberty

The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PS Vita is to feature both Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and will allow players to sync save data with their original PS2 versions of the games.

Kojima also announced a Zone of the Enders HD Collection featuring both the original PS2 game and its sequel, Anubis. Again, data will be transferable with the PS2 originals.

We already knew about Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD Edition, which hits Japanese shelves on November 11th and also features syncing capabilities between the PSP and PS3.

You'll note Kojima’s main theme at the conference appeared to revolve around syncing. He mentioned that he looks forward to offering PS Vita gamers two versions of a game in every one copy that they buy, by making synchronised data possible between PS3 and PS Vita.

For now we're planning to infiltrate Kojima's office in our trusty cardboard box disguise in the hope we hear more revelations regarding that secret project.
