PlayStation Plus will bring free games and cloud saves to Vita in November

Sony's premium membership package PlayStation Plus is coming to PS Vita in November. Best of all: existing PS3 Plus members will get the handheld features as part of their package.

Through PlayStation Plus, you get access to free games - which you can keep for as long as you keep paying your monthly subscription - and to exclusive discounts. You also get 1GB of cloud storage for save games - on top of the 1GB you get on PS3.

Plus-powered Vitas can also automatically download game updates, new Vita firmware, and chosen game demos. Plus, the console can turn itself on at a designated time to sync its trophies with PlayStation Network.

Plus 1

PlayStation Plus comes in two packages - a 90-day subscription for €14.99 / $17.99, and an annual membership for $49.99 / €49.99.

If you're already signed up to PlayStation Plus through your PS3, you'll get all the Vita features at no extra cost. And if you start a new PlayStation Plus subscription on Vita in November, you'll get the PS3 features for free.

If you're curious about the quality of the PlayStation Plus free games on offer, you'll be pleased to learn that much-vaunted PS3 titles like Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and Dead Space 2 have all been given away in the past.
