'Finite amount of space' in high street stores was reason UK retailer GAME didn't stock Ubisoft's PS Vita launch line-up

We learnt a couple of weeks ago that UK retailer GAME wouldn't be stocking Namco Bandai's 3DS brawler Tekken 3D: Prime Edition. It didn't stock Rayman Origins or the rest of Ubisoft's PS Vita launch line-up, either.

According to GAME's marketing director Anna-Marie Mason, this is because the retailer's high street stores don't have an unlimited amount of space.

"You can see, there's a finite amount of space in a store. We can't stock absolutely everything. That's just not possible," Mason said.

Mason didn't, however, cite GAME's recent financial troubles, layoffs, and broken credit links as additional reasons for the aforementioned missing titles, and was quick to snub the idea that cheap online retailers are behind GAME's struggling sales.

You're wrong

"What our customers get from us, whether they shop with GAME or Gamestation, is more than a sterile transaction," Mason said.

"They get the opportunity to transact with us in the way they want and they get added value. Our customers will vote with their feet."

GAME may stock Ubisoft's titles in the future.
