Sony says it still has PS Vita games in development

Sony says it still has PS Vita games in development
|

There's been a bit of hearsay recently that has resulted in confusion around whether or not Sony has any PS Vita games in development.

Previously, it was said by Sony's VP Masayasu Ito that all first-party game development had switched to the PS4.

This was easily accepted as Sony hasn't talked about the PS Vita much recently, nor of any games it was making for it.

Now, however, speaking to GameSpot, Sony president Shuhei Yoshida says Sony does have some games in development for PS Vita.

"I've been pretty honest saying our focus has shifted to PS4 and PlayStation VR, it's not like we don't have any development at all," Yoshida said.

"We do, but our focus is on PS4 and PlayStation VR, and we are happy to see third-parties and indies support it."

Yoshida was also asked if he sees the PS Vita having any life left in it in 2016.

"Yeah I do, but we have to see," he answered. Nowadays, still people are excited and using Vita very frequently, it's a great portable gaming system. As long as there is a demand, why not?"
