PS Vita is getting custom themes in a firmware update this autumn
Decorate the walls
Sony has announced that the Vita (and PS4) will get custom themes in the upcoming 3.30 firmware update due this autumn.
This news came during a press conference held today just before the Tokyo Game Show kicked off.
A video showcasing one of the themes depicted various rooms of a small house where PlayStation Japan mascots Toro and Kuro could be seen animated in the background.
Whether all themes would contain this level of animation and dynamism is not clear.
What we do know is that the themes apply changes to icons and wallpapers. You'll be able to purchase themes through the PlayStation Store.
Similarly, last week Nintendo announced that custom themes were on the way to the 3DS. It seems that handheld systems are all about decorating your menu screen these days.
