Pixel Noir is a game that we've already glued our eyeballs to, due to its mix of pixel art, cyberpunk streets, raincoats, and smoky bars.

Now it's up on Kickstarter, where SWDTech is asking for $97,000 in order to bring it to iOS, Android, Vita, PC, and PS4.

"Something happened that night in the hospital - something that cost you your career as a police detective, your sanity and your partner's life."

This pre-event is what enshrouds Pixel Noir's mystery. The game is set ten years after this night when you apparently blew up an entire hospital. Now, you're a private eye out to prove your innocence.

Pixel Noir mixes a lot of influences and styles into one. It's a detective game and also a 16-bit RPG. It's film noir and futurstic cyberpunk.

Combat is turn-based. There's an investigation mode that highlights parts of the environment and suspicious people. The story is told with dialogue boxes and contains the snide remarks of a stylish graphic novel.

There's a lot to like about Pixel Noir, then. If you want to secure yourself a copy you need only to chuck $10 at it.
