Pastagames unveiled a colourful surprise today in its upcoming Vita arcade game Pix The Cat.

Not only does the game look like an endless disco, its multidimensional mazes are built inside of each other like matryoshka (Russian) dolls.

You play the titular cat and try to save as many ducklings as possible, growing a huge tail in the process. It's a bit like Pac-man if it went on forever and you could travel between levels at will. Sort of.

Of course, there are plenty of enemies and hazards along the way that will kill you if you're not careful. What you'll want to look out for instead are the combos and boosts to up that score.

If you manage to get a streak going you can activate Fever Time. So, yep, even more flashing colours and a huge score at the end of it, hopefully.

This is an intense-looking arcade game and one that'll certainly give your thumbs a workout.

Pix The Cat

Pix The Cat is the result of months of Pastagames working on third-party games. One of those was the Gold Award-winning Rayman Jungle Run.

The money made from these other games is poured into the budget for the studio's original titles. Not a bad system, really.

Anyway, Pix The Cat will be coming to Vita this autumn. It will also be coming to PS4 at the same time. It should spice up those boring times in your life (if there are any).
