Legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed in an interview with Edge that he doesn't see Sony's PS Vita as a "strong product".

"I think I really can't say. It's obviously a very high-spec machine and you can do lots of things with it, but I don't really see the combination of software and hardware that really makes a very strong product," the Mario creator replied when asked what he thought of Sony's latest portable console.

"I'm not looking at Vita as happy that it's not selling well, or scared that it would sell well - I'm not look[ing] at Vita in that way."

The PS Vita has been suffering from declining sales since it hit store shelves, particularly in Japan. Sony's newest handheld has even been outsold by its predecessor a number of times.
