OlliOlli 2 takes you to Olliwood with new tricks and multiplayer, coming to Vita in 2015

Roll7 has announced OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood. It's the sequel to the Bronze Award-winning skateboarding game OlliOlli, and it's heading to Vita (and PS4) in 2015.

Compared to the first game, OlliOlli 2 will have a deeper combo system, more dynamic levels with split routes, an art makeover, and a new split-screen multiplayer mode.

Roll7 has been working on this sequel since February 2014 (development on OlliOlli finished up in September 2013) so, presumably, many of these features are already in place.

Roll7 released a new trailer to go alongside the announcement of OlliOlli 2 today, which you can watch below.

To go in a little more depth, OlliOlli 2's "Olliwood" is said to be part of a themed OlliOlli universe.

Obviously it's a reference to Hollywood, and so yes, you'll be skateboarding across a number of "cinematic locations". It's essentially the same thing that Hello Games did with Joe Danger 2 The Movie, then.

OlliOlli 2 will, suitably, encourage bigger air with proper ramps, jumps and huge hills this time around. As mentioned, you'll also have to choose from different routes this time around.

The combo system is being deepened the same way that Tony Hawk's Pro Skate 2's was, with manuals, reverts, revert manuals and grind switching.

There will also be new listings in the game's "Tricktionary", including 540 Shuvits, Anti-Casper Flips, and Darkslides. These are being fully realised with over 9000 extra frames of animation, and a slicker art style with cleaner lines.

Lastly, a new mode called Combo Rush is a split-screen local multiplayer mode for up to four players. You all compete at a single spot to ramp up the biggest score possible.
