Tons of Japanese Vita games revealed as Namco Bandai, Marvellous, and more pile on support

You may often see me staring out of the single window at Pocket Gamer Towers mumbling under my breath, "This is good... but we need more. MORE."

I am, of course, talking about games for the PS Vita. There have been plenty of game announcements in recent months for Sony's fledging handheld, but it most definitely needs MORE.

At this morning's Sony conference at the Tokyo Game Show, Marvellous, Namco Bandai, Koei Tecmo, and more answered my desperate plea. Unfortunately for we Europeans, most of these newly announced games will probably be Japan-only releases.

Marvellous was the real Vita champion, announcing three new games coming in 2013. Action-RPG Valhalla Knights 3 will be available sometime next year, while Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is on the way in February.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade (pictured above), which was originally a Nintendo Wii game, is also coming to the Vita in March. This RPG actually came to Europe back in 2009, so we may perhaps see the Vita version on these shores.

Namco Bandai went all Gundam on us, revealing that a new Dynasty Warriors action title is heading to Vita next year. The publisher also had God Eater 2 on hand - that's coming to Vita and PSP next February, and will feature cross-play between the two consoles.

Koei Tecmo only had one new game to show off, but it's a good 'un. Toukiden is a new title from Omega Force, the studio behind the Warriors games. Japanese gamers can expect that in 2013.

And what of Keiji Inafune's dark co-op fantasy game Soul Sacrifice? Well, slightly bad news, we're afraid: the game has been delayed until early next year.

Now, none of this might excite you all that much, given that we most likely won't see much of it over here on Western shores. However, remember that if these Vita titles sell by the bucketload in Japan, they could well make it over to the West.

So, rejoice in the glow of new Japanese Vita games (and quietly hope some of them book virtual plane tickets to the US and UK, too).
