Konami confirms June 29th European release date for Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection for Vita

Konami has confirmed that the European release date for the PS Vita version of Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection is June 29th, which, as I'm sure you'll all recall, is the date I predicted a few weeks ago.

Let's ignore the fact I also said it could be June 22nd.

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection actually consists of just two of the MGS games - the second and third games in the series - and doesn't include the iconic PSone original or the PSP smash Peace Walker (the latter is included in the PS3 version of the pack, however).

Having said that, it does contain two of the finest Metal Gear games committed to disc, with MGS3 regularly touted as the series's finest hour [Warning: that link contains massive spoilers].

Raiden schedule

Also included in the Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection are the first two 2D Metal Gear games from the MSX system, which - as Peter pointed out to me after the previous article went live - were also part of MGS3: Subsistence, the updated version of MGS3.

Completists can pick up the Pocket Gamer Gold Award-winning Peace Walker from PSN right now, while everyone else can just wait until June 29th to step back into Snake's, the other Snake's, and Raiden's shoes.

Additionally, if you already have the PS3 version of the pack, you can use the save files to pick up from where you left off on your PS Vita using Kojima Productions's proprietary "Transfarring" [sic] system.
