Let's drop the bomb right now: Playdead's Gold Award-winning Limbo is no longer a Cross-Buy title.

Simply put: if you'd purchased Limbo on PS3 or PS Vita prior to today, you would have been able to download the 'other' platform version at no extra cost.

Now, well, that isn't the case.

This change came to light in the comments section of the "Horror Sale" announcement on the EU PlayStation Blog. After purchasing a copy of Limbo on PS3, commenters were noticing that they no longer got free access to the Vita version... despite it being a Cross-Buy title.

Playing dead

After investigating the matter, SCEE PS Store and Plus Content Manager Chris Howe issued the following statement:

"I have spoken with the team at Playdead and if you have purchased the PS3 version of LIMBO please contact them through the email address below and they will supply a code for the the VITA version.

[email protected]

Please note that moving forward the game will continue not to support the cross buy functionality."

Limbo

If you've previously bought Limbo on PS3 AND activated the free purchase on Vita, then you should still be able to download the game on both platforms for nowt.

However, if you didn't activate the free Cross-Buy deal on Vita, then you will have to purchase Limbo on Vita, I'm afraid.
