Japanese PS Vitas to receive free online RPG Guardian Hearts by end of August

Q Entertainment, a company known for its mobile titles in Japan, announced that it will release a free online roleplaying game Guardian Hearts for the PS Vita by the end of August.

Details on the title are emerging but the Vita version of Guardian Hearts is in all likelihood an updated port of Q Entertainment’s mobile title 'Guardian Hearts', a traditional sprite-based JRPG.

What differentiates Guardian Hearts from other RPGs is that it gives players the ability to hire other players as NPCs making it a perfect choice for the Vita’s social gaming environment.

Otherwise, it is very much the turn-based, HP and MP driven RPG, press-x-to-attack affair that you might expect.

Guard the hearts, not the Kingdom

Much like Sega’s Samurai & Dragons which launched on the Vita earlier this year, Q Entertainment’s Guardian Hearts will be entirely free to download and play.

The cost of the game is covered by an item transaction system, which establishes an interesting freemium model for handheld systems.
