Grip Games has today announced that it's bringing the world's first foosball title to the PlayStation 3 and - more importantly - PS Vita.

Foosball 2012 will pack some pretty nifty features, including cross-platform play. If you own the PS Vita version of the game, you can compete in a match against your PS3-touting buddies, in other words.

Or, if you own both versions of the forthcoming sports title, you can start a game on one device and pick up where you left off on another.

"Not only are we excited to announce the first foosball game for the PS3 and PS Vita, but we are thrilled to launch the game for both devices with fun and competitive cross-compatibility features," Jakub Mikyska, CEO of Grip Games, said.

"Players will now have a multitude of options to get their foosball fix anywhere, anytime and on either PlayStation device."

Foosball 2012 will feature both single and multiplayer game modes, as well as a Quick Match mode in which you can challenge three other local players to a heated bout.

You'll be able to download Foosball 2012 from the PlayStation Store this spring, so keep you eyes peeled for it. Check out the trailer below.
