E3 2014: Fat Princess, GUNS UP!, and Reaper are among the F2P games heading to Vita

During its conference at E3 last night, Sony confirmed that a slew of free-to-play games would be heading to its consoles later this year.

Among those announced were a bunch of Vita games that you'll be able to download for free when they charge onto Sony's handheld soon.

Below, we take a quick look at all of them.

GUNS UP! GUNS UP!

The first free-to-play Vita game is GUNS UP!, which is a cartoony strategy game played on a horizontal battlefield.

As the general of the blue or red side, you have to deploy your troops, tactics, air strikes, and smoke screens to claim territory.

GUNS UP! will boast cross-platform multiplayer with turn-based asynchronous play across PS3, PS4, and Vita.

Fat Princess: Piece of Cake

Fat Princess: Piece of Cake

We recently covered Fat Princess: Piece of Cake just after it was soft-launched on iOS.

It's a match-three RPG, meaning you need to match swords, bombs, and guns to perform attacks against your opponents when in battle.

By matching gems, you can upgrade your soldiers. With cake, meanwhile, you can unleash the Fat Princess's slam attacks and big combos.

BigFest

BigFest

BigFest is all about building your own music festival. The game makes use of real music from unsigned artists. You can help these hitherto-unknown artists climb the charts to reach an audience.

There's also a multiplayer element, which lets you help out your friends at their festivals. Or you can just vandalise their toilets and upset their customers.

Here, we have an action-RPG directed by British game designer Luc Bernard.

You play as one of Death's reapers, who turns on Death itself after being sent to kill your own daughter. You'll be able to claim 100 Soul Cards at launch to spend on spells and equipment.

Lastly, we have a world-building game about breeding monsters.

You'll take care of your monsters on islands each with its own set of unique songs. Your monsters sing, dance, and play, you see.

The Yawstrich and G'joob monsters are new and will be exclusive to Vita.
