Borderlands 2 is set to bring its frenetic RPG shooting madness to PS Vita at the start of May

Borderlands 2, Gearbox Software's magnificent cel-shaded gun-toting FPS RPG is set to land on the PS Vita in May, so you've got about a month to wait for the portable version of the vaguely silly sci-fi shooter.
While an EU release date hasn't been cast in concrete and thrown into the choppy waters of the internet, we do know that the US version will be available on May 6th as part of a special hardware bundle, and on May 13th as a standalone physical or digital purchase.
The hardware bundle includes a shiny new-shape PS Vita in common or garden black flavour, an 8GB memory card, and the game.
It'll probably come in a box with a picture of a Borderlands 2 character on it. You'll treasure that forever.
The whole caboodle will set you back $199. And you'll be able to brag to your friends about being able to play an old console game on the bus a whole week before them.
Interestingly, this will be the first time our cousins over the pond will be able to get their hands on the redesigned PS Vita hardware. Which we reviewed right here.
The game itself is set to come bundled with a great stinking wodge of extra content. Along with the core game you'll get six different add-on packs.
They are, in no particular order: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, the Psycho and Mechromancer Character Classes, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1, and the Collector's Edition pack.
That's a lot of digital bang for your physical buck.
There'll also be four player co-op, and Cross Save functionality means you'll be able to pick up your PS3 game where you left off.
So there you have it. A triple-A console quality title is heading to a PS Vita near you at the start of next month. I didn't even realise that was allowed.
