Back in April, Irrational's Ken Levine revealed that his studio would concentrate on finishing BioShock Infinite before it switched its focus to a new BioShock title for Sony's latest handheld.

Now, Levine has told website Eurogamer that he needs the go-ahead from "the business people" at both Sony and Take-Two to begin work on BioShock Vita.

"Where the Vita stands right now, it's in the hands of the business people at Take-Two and the business people at Sony working out, hey, what happens in these business people discussions?" Levine said.

"It's something I'm still very interested in. I still have a cool design for it. It's a question of, do those guys come to find the right mix that makes everybody happy to make that happen?"

What could it be?

If BioShock does make it to Sony's PS Vita, it won't be in the form of an Infinite port.

"I've never said it was Infinite. It will be something. I'm always hesitant to talk too much about things we don't have anything to show because it's getting ahead of ourselves," Levine said.

"I'm trying to be very careful."

BioShock Infinite will be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in March. We'll hopefully hear more news on BioShock for Vita around the time of its big brother's release.
